How It Works
Tastemakers is a prediction market platform where you bet on artist growth — and artists earn from every trade.
Prediction Markets
Each market asks a simple question: Will this artist reach a streaming milestone? For example, "Will Bad Bunny reach 55M monthly listeners by March 15?"
You buy YES tokens if you think they will, or NO tokens if you think they won't. Prices move between $0 and $1 based on demand — if most people think YES, the YES price goes up and NO goes down.
Pricing uses an LMSR (Logarithmic Market Scoring Rule) algorithm — the same mechanism used by leading prediction markets. This ensures there's always liquidity and prices accurately reflect collective belief.
How Trading Works
Pick a market
Browse artists and find a market you have conviction on.
Buy YES or NO
Deposit USDC to buy tokens. The price you pay depends on current market sentiment.
Trade or hold
Sell your tokens anytime before the market closes to lock in profit, or hold until settlement.
Settlement
When the market ends, verified streaming data determines the outcome. Winning tokens are redeemable 1:1 for USDC.
How Artists Earn
Every trade generates a 1% fee, split evenly:

Artists earn passively from every single trade on their market — the more popular the market, the more they earn. Fees are paid instantly on-chain to the artist's wallet. No invoices, no waiting.
Earning as a Tastemaker
A Tastemaker is someone with a track record of good predictions. There are two ways to earn:
Direct Trading
Buy low, sell high. If you correctly predict an artist's growth, your YES tokens appreciate in value. Build your win rate and climb the leaderboard.
Copy Trading (coming soon)
Top tastemakers can open vaults where followers deposit USDC to mirror their trades. Copy trades carry a 1.5% fee — with the extra 0.5% going directly to the tastemaker. The better your track record, the more followers you attract.
Market Tiers
Artists are grouped into tiers based on their current reach. Smaller artists have higher growth targets — and bigger potential payoffs.

On-Chain and Transparent
Everything runs on Base (an Ethereum L2). All trades, fees, and settlements are executed by smart contracts — fully verifiable and non-custodial. Your funds stay in your wallet until you trade.
Streaming data is verified through a dual-source oracle system. Daily snapshots from multiple providers must agree within tolerance before a market can settle, preventing manipulation.
